Boujaad or Bejaad are hand woven pile rugs from a small region in the Haouz between the Middle Atlas and the Atlantic Ocean.
Made by Berber women, these rugs play with bold strong colors – pinks, purples, oranges & reds – each piece telling a tale with the use of traditional Berber lozenges & motifs – making references to fertility, rural life, marriage, spiritual beliefs and more.
Our Boujaad hand knotted rug range is fast becoming the favorite for discerning interior designers and investors.
This, and every other genuine Boujaad hand knotted rug, is made in the region of Haouz in the Middle Atlas Mountains of Morocco. They are woven using soft handspun wool and natural dyes, in gorgeous shades of reds, pinks and oranges with irregular geometric patterns and Berber symbolism. These beautiful vintage pieces tell the story of Morocco and its people – they are woven full of history and are wonderful heirloom rugs to be passed down for years to come.
